1 (16.3 oz) can refrigerated flaky biscuits (8-count) 1 pound thinly sliced deli roast beef 2 2 tablespoons creamy horseradish sauce 8 slices provolone cheese 1 (1 oz) packet au jus gravy mix 2 cups water (or as directed on gravy mix package) 2 tablespoons melted butter (optional)
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Split each biscuit horizontally into a top and bottom half.
Spread a thin layer of creamy horseradish sauce on each biscuit half.
Place a slice of provolone cheese and a portion of roast beef on half of the biscuit pieces.
Top with the remaining biscuit halves and gently press the edges together.
Arrange on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
While the biscuits bake, prepare the au jus gravy mix according to package directions.
Brush the tops with melted butter if desired.
Serve warm with au jus for dipping.
Flaky-style biscuits provide the best texture.
Swiss or mozzarella cheese can be substituted for provolone.
Leftover roast beef works well if sliced thin.
Add sautéed onions for extra French dip flavor.
Serve immediately for the best cheesy texture.
