Salad 4 cups frozen peas thawed and drained 10 slices bacon cooked and crumbled 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese shredded or cubed ½ cup red onion finely diced Dressing 1 cup mayonnaise 2 tablespoons sour cream 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar 1 teaspoon granulated sugar ½ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon black pepper
Cook the bacon until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate and allow to cool. Crumble into bite-sized pieces.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
Add the thawed peas, crumbled bacon, cheddar cheese, and diced red onion to the bowl.
Gently stir until all ingredients are evenly coated with the dressing.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Stir gently before serving and garnish with additional bacon and cheddar cheese if desired.
Pat thawed peas dry before mixing to prevent excess moisture.
Sharp cheddar provides the best flavor.
This salad tastes even better after chilling for several hours.
Reserve some bacon for garnish just before serving.
Do not freeze, as the dressing may separate.
